Kara Meyer
Kara Meyer is Managing Director at + POOL, where she oversees the development of the world’s first water-filtering, floating swimming pool. She helped establish the 501c3 Friends of + POOL in 2015 and heads the organization’s operations, programming, and administration, with a focus on fundraising and expanding partnerships for the development of the + POOL project. Before coming to + POOL, Kara was the Director of External Relations at Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, where she secured and managed a contract with the U.S. Department of State and lead the team that represented the United States at the 14th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy. During her time at Storefront for Art and Architecture and Art in General in New York, she organized funding for major art and architecture commissions by Brendan Fernandes, Sebastian Errazuriz, Josh Melnick, Ohad Meromi, and Kambui Olujimi, among many others; and secured and managed contracts with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the New York State Council on the Arts, The New York Council on the Humanities, and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, among other government agencies. Kara began her career with the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC, working in hospitality and events.
