Janani Karthik

Janani Karthik is a designer and illustrator from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, with a specialization in Design, from Stella Maris College, Chennai. After her graduation, she interned at a Montessori school and worked as a Design Fellow at the Centre for Wildlife Studies, Bangalore, where her interest in wildlife conservation blossomed. She has written and illustrated three children’s picture books that weave cultural narratives with themes ranging from unity in diversity to the wonders of the forest.

Janani’s work focuses on the intersection of design, education, and wildlife. She is particularly interested in the role of design as a bridge between research and awareness/education, using it as a tool throughout her practice.
