Jen Miraflor is the Director of Operations and Academic Advisor for MFA Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts NYC.

Jen joins us from a graphic and textile design background, focusing on creative direction, developing brand and design strategies, branding, packaging, project management, and managing creative teams in consumer packaged goods and healthcare industries. Jen founded her company, Studio Miraflora, to showcase small-batch handwoven textiles. She formerly served as Director of Healthcare Solutions at the Johnson & Johnson Global Strategic Design Office for nearly a decade and has consulted with Sotheby’s Art Action House and Studio Everywhere. Working in these industries has taught Jen much about designing with the user and patient at the center, building relationships, teamwork, and thinking creatively and outside the box.

Jen applies her skills and years of experience to continue growing the community in and around the program, its faculty, and students and promote a studio culture that encourages collaboration and a bit of fun along the way.
