Lorena Estrella

Lorena Estrella is a first-generation Dominican Jersey girl who is deeply committed to equity and liberation work, to centering and elevating the voices of young people of color. She is currently wearing many hats: facilitator, trainer, consultant, educator and crafter. Lorena also works closely with the ELLA Fellowship program at Sadie Nash Leadership Project, where she supports young people in launching their dream social justice projects. Sadie Nash Leadership Project has been her professional home over the last eight years, and she has served in various capacities in the areas of program management, curriculum design and professional development. Lorena graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s in Studio Art and Latin American Studies. She is passionate about the arts as a means for social change and is currently learning the many ways to print without a press and to dance without music. Lorena loves breakfast any time of day, fresh flowers, plants of all sizes, traveling, making zines and scribbling poems.

Youth Action Lab

Youth Action Lab is an afterschool club for middle schoolers that uses storytelling and creative expression to explore questions on race & identity.
