Gina Kim is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in New York. Whilst receiving her BFA in Illustration at Syracuse University, she studied child development, anxiety disorders, and personality psychology. She also studied painting and sculpture in Florence, Italy. After graduation, Gina worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she contributed to the redesign of the intranet’s infrastructure. This work expanded her interest in graphic design and since then, she has collaborated on a range graphic design and branding projects. Through the DSI program, Gina hopes to advocate for social inclusion and help people with mental disabilities by designing public sensory playgrounds for children with special needs.
