Melissa Simón
Melissa Simón is the Program Coordinator for MFA Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts.
She embodies an entrepreneurial spirit rooted in a multidisciplinary academic background in Sociology, Africana and Latin American and Caribbean studies. As a Queen’s based beauty salon owner specializing in senior services, her journey has evolved into an exploration of ageism within the beauty industry. Currently her goal is to redefine self-care at different stages in life and promote intergenerational inclusivity in beauty.
Melissa aims to contribute a blend of creativity, social consciousness and service to the DSI community. She loves spontaneous travel, road trips and making shoes!
