Future Freedoms is Fortune’s second exhibition at MoMA PS1. Co-created by DSI faculty and alum Laura Cerón Melo (MFA DSI ’21) with community members of the Fortune Society (Fortune) and friend and fellow artist, Jenny Polak. At Open House, the museum will have activities, including a poetry reading by Fortune artists at 2 p.m. From 3 to 6 p.m., join us in Classroom with Freedom Agenda and 13th Forward, two member-led projects dedicated to organizing communities directly impacted by incarceration. With goals to achieve decarceration and system transformation, the groups will share information on the fight to close Rikers Island, the No Slavery in New York Act, and the Fairness and Opportunity for Incarcerated Workers Act. The exhibition will be open from November 14, 2024, to March 24, 2025, with additional public programming offered throughout its run.
