Mouhui (Mariah) Sun

Mouhui is from China. She majored in exhibition design and planning. She is an interior architect and graphic designer with more than five years of experience in the field. She is a LEED Green Associate. In her my spare time, Mouhui often volunteers at community centers serving those in need, and through these encounters, has developed her empathy and found a commitment to help more people suffering from mental illness.
To her, design is narrative, and powerfully influences how people feel in the world. She hopes she can be someone who tries to help the weaker crowds. With the power of design, a designer could help improve people’s living conditions, change their status of living and provide them a life with dignity.

Thesis Projects

Spark Igniters

Spark Igniters aims to establish a community-driven platform that fosters connections and collaboration within Manhattan’s Chinatown, enabling residents to engage with and appreciate art and culture, access vital social services, and build relationships that inspire and sustain the community and local businesses. By doing so, we seek to create a more inclusive, resilient, and culturally rich neighborhood that thrives in the face of adversity and embraces its individuality.
