Join us on Wed, May 15 (1-5pm EST) at the iconic SVA Theater NYC as we celebrate the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Design for Social Innovation Class of 2024 – watch presentations about their academic journey, incredible design research, insights, and measured impact to respond to complex social issues.

Our MFA candidates are engaging with an array of diverse communities, from Bronx youth to South Asian diaspora groups, Chinese-American nurses to first-generation Korean immigrant women, and tween girls in Nicaragua. These collaborations and co-creative efforts exemplify the incredible transformative power of social design.

Students have used mediums such as storytelling, music, art therapy, and cutting-edge technology to tackle pressing issues like environmental health, trauma, burnout, and social reintegration. Together, we are cultivating healing, resilience, and solidarity, paving the way toward a world characterized by justice and compassion.
