MFA DSI Open Session
Heart of Dinner Volunteering
In support of Heart of Dinner 愛心餐, a nonprofit organization combating food insecurity and isolation in NYC’s elderly Asian communities, MFA DSI students organized a meal delivery bag decorating event for MFA DSI’s Thursday Open Session.
Collectively, and with imagination and creativity, the volunteers designed 51 bags. These beautiful bags go to Heart of Dinner for delivering meals to elderly Asian communities in NYC…designed with love to bring joy and brightness to their day.
This initiative combines art, empathy, and social impact, helping brighten the days of recipients while raising awareness of the organization’s vital work — true social design.
Gratitude to Hao Jie Sim (MFA DSI ’26) and DSI Faculty Mari Nakano for organizing and inspiring this volunteer opportunity.
