DSI Students Participate in the Avenues Design4Impact Conference Showcase

DSI students Nazlı Cangönül, Lauren Gardner, Kara Isabella and Caroline McAndrews were invited to participate in the inaugural student-led Design 4 Impact Conference at Avenues, The World School in NYC on February 27th.

The DSI and DFA Mentorship Program: The Beginning of a Wonderful Relationship

Last Friday, The Barnard | Columbia Design for America (DFA) studio came to DSI to be mentored by our students and begin initial planning for our new collaborative program. With the guidance of a select group of first and second year students, the DFA students will be supported in their journey through the design process.

Nazlı Cangönül

Nazlı Cangönül grew up in Turkey and earned a BA from Istanbul Technical Design for Industrial Product Design program. She’s interested in the systems beneath lifestyles, attitudes, and policies and uses design to help others think about those systems, too. She came to DSI looking for new strategies as she continues this work.
