Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

We’d like to extend a big congratulations to our 2021 cohort, who presented their heavily researched and thought-provoking thesis projects yesterday, May 6th after a uniquely ambiguous and challenging year.

We thank our faculty, thesis advisors Sloan Leo, Kara Meyer, Sahar Ghaheri, and Mari Nakano, and George Aye of Greater Good Studio for their thoughtful send-offs and their support for our students on this special day and beyond.

In the words of our chair, Miya Osaki, we remember: “this class was disrupted in their second semester. We dispersed to different locations and met on Zoom late into the evening or early morning. They asked themselves what new collaborations look like, how they could reduce harm in their interactions, and how to sustain and support their work in communities to shift and reimagine systems. We have supported each other on a very long journey.”

Their perseverance, dedication, and talent for turning lemons into lemonade shows in every aspect of their work, and we are so proud of the work that they produced and shared with us at our first show back in person after a fully remote year.

In case you missed it, thesis presentations are available to view on our Youtube channel, and you can read more about each on our 2021 Thesis Website
