This year, we’re congratulating three of our senior thesis groups for receiving SVA’s annual Alumni Scholarship Award, which has selected 59 students to receive over $40,000 in funding toward their final student projects and portfolios. It is always an honor to have DSI represented in this incredibly talented lineup of students across disciplines.
Veda Borgave’s thesis project–100 on 100–is dedicated to helping people living with diabetes reach their blood sugar goals by considering various factors including food intake, medical access, and community trust.
Thesis partners Janvi Ghatalia and Mahima Jaju are working to advance more authentic, visible representations of disability in Indian films by helping creators recognize ableist narratives. In order to reach this goal, the pair is working in collaboration with film students and disabled individuals in their communities.
We’re excited to see the final product of these three projects come May.
