Meet Paul Lillehaugen, who will be co-teaching our Understanding Natural and Social Systems class with Chair Miya Osaki.
Paul is an urban planning and strategy consultant with a background spanning the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Previously, Paul worked at 100 Resilient Cities, where he helped cities across the U.S. and Canada develop long-term resilience strategies to address their critical social, economic, and environmental challenges. He has a Masters in Urban Planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a BA in economics and art from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.
Understanding Natural and Social Systems is a first year course that focuses on developing comprehensive understandings of the “ecosystem” of social innovation. The course examines this ecosystem through the lens of experts across fields, and references case studies, multimedia, class discussion, readings, and instruction.
