Faculty Alison Cornyn’s Incorrigibles Exhibition is Going on the Road

DSI Faculty Alison Cornyn’s Incorrigibles exhibition is going on the road! Incorrigibles: Bearing Witness to the Incarcerated Girls of NY was on exhibit at the Brooklyn Federal Courthouse this spring, and included “archival images and documentation from the New York State Training School for Girls, oral histories of women who were incarcerated there in the 1960’s and 70’s, and a short film about the history of girls’ incarceration.”

Incorrigibles moved next to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in the ‘In Solidarity We Rise’ conferences hosted by National Crittenton in May. The exhibitioners are now looking for new places to land around the U.S. Exhibitions are accompanied by public programs that investigate the criminal legal system and social services for girls – then and now.

More information about the exhibit can be found here and here, and read about the DSI student trip to see Incorrigibles here.
