This March DSI student Yuka Fukuoka will be presenting STACHA, a wearable device aimed at educating people on the difficulties of stuttering, at the SXSW’s Interactive Festival.
Motivated by her personal journey, STACHA was designed with a team from both her home country of Japan, and the US. The collar-like device, which simulates the speech barrier and induces the physical response of stuttering, hopes to establish deeper awareness into the cognitive disorder.
The SXSW Conference Festivals takes place March 10–19th in Austin, TX. It celebrates the convergence of the interactive film, music, and tech industries fostering creative and professional growth.
