On November 30th, chair Cheryl Heller will embark on her third trip to China this year, this time to lead a workshop with seventy architecture and interior design students at Hunan Normal University in Changsha, China. The goal of the workshop is to help students co-create, with residents, a revitalized community that has been eclipsed by a spurt of new development adjacent to it. The workshop will include community mapping, ethnographic research, idea development and prototyping. The neighborhood in Changsha City is Yan Dao Ping.
Cheryl Heller will be partnering in this workshop with her long-time friend and colleague, Cheryl Kiser, Managing Director of The Lewis Institute on Social Entrepreneurship and the Executive Director for The Babson Social Innovation Lab.
Thank you to our awesome alum Wei Zheng for her tireless coordination of the project. More to come.
