The Legendary Paul Polak Speaks at DSI

Paul Polak has brought nineteen million people out of poverty, practiced human-centered design before anyone ever heard of it, and pioneered new techniques for market creation among rural farmers in Africa and Asia. He is also a dear friend and mentor to DSI, and on our Faculty at Large.

A master at designing affordable technologies that serve the poorest people in the world, Paul founded International Development Enterprises (IDE) and D-Rev: Design for the Other 90%.

Paul conducted an in-depth tutorial in the methodologies of his latest for-profit initiatives in clean drinking water, and solar technologies, each of which has the potential to reach one hundred million people.

In addition to talking about his own work, Paul spent time answering students’ questions about their thesis projects and offering his always sage and sometimes humorous advice.

Thank you Paul. We love you.
