Despina Papadopoulos is the founder of Studio 5050 and an interaction designer and design strategist. For over 15 years, she’s collaborated with large corporations, fashion designers, R&D labs, and museums. She recently spent a year in Kabul developing products with a team of local artists and designers and has engaged in a continuing investigation of appropriate design methodologies for international development. Despina has experience in systems design, prototyping interfaces, and large-scale production development. Her wearable device, Moi, is available in fashion and museum stores internationally, and she recently launched a set of open source electronic building tools with Zach Eveland under the name fabrickit. Her work has been shown worldwide at institutions like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, NEMO: Amsterdam’s Science Museum, and the SF Museum of Modern Art.
