Amanda Makulec, is passionate about finding creative ways to use data for social good. She works at the intersection of data, design, and communications as a Visual Analytics Advisor for John Snow Inc., where she collaborates with teams to develop audience-centered communication materials and data exploration tools. Amanda also designs and facilitates workshops on data visualization, storytelling, and data use for NGOs, universities, and community organizations around the world, and has worked in more than a dozen countries over the past eight years. She is currently focused on adapting human centered design facilitation approaches for teaching data visualization skills and improving how data is used for decision making.
