Come build it! A Game Jam for Social Good

March 27, 2015

Join a team of designers from the innovative Design for Social Innovation program at SVA to create a game in ONE WEEKEND. We will take projects from concept to a workable prototype with mentorship from veteran game designers and producers.

Digital games designed to address social and political issues are sometimes called ‘Impact Games’ or ‘Games for Change’ or ‘Newsgames’ and they address a broad range of pressing issues such as climate change, global hunger, poverty, conflict resolution and human rights. These are games that help kids and adults around the world become more thoughtful, responsible and committed citizens through play. They could teach, express ideas and even inspire social action.

The Game Jam will be lead by AWESOME DSI faculty members, Asi Burak, Co-President of Games for Change, and Naomi Clark, renowned game designer.
